03 — Belonging

Belonging is unconditional. Advancement is offered, never imposed.

The Church recognizes and honors three primary forms of membership, each reflecting a unique path to faith, belonging, and spiritual development. No one is locked out, and no one is locked in.

01 General Participatory Open to any individual who affirms the Statement of Faith and resonates with the teachings. No formal application or ritual is required; membership is recognized through participation, sincere interest, and alignment with our values.
02 Lineage-Based Conferred upon those born into families practicing Ætherism, raised in the faith and immersed in its teachings from birth. A Rite of Welcome may bless and welcome the child — celebratory, never binding.
03 Initiatory For those — whether General or Lineage — who are called to the deeper path of spiritual mastery, service, and sacred responsibility. Entry is by formal petition, preparatory study, discernment, and a rite of initiation.

The Three Forms

Nine stages, offered and never imposed

Three stages to each form of membership. They exist for mentorship and support, and a member may stand in any of them for as long as they wish.

General Participatory Inquirer, exploring and attending · Associate, participating regularly · Full Member, by a rite of belonging. These stages exist for mentorship and support — never for status, display, or exclusion. A member may remain here indefinitely.
Lineage-Based Rite of Welcome, optional · upbringing in the tradition · Affirmation of Choice at maturity. Membership by lineage confers belonging, but spiritual commitment remains a matter of conscious personal choice. The choice is always theirs.
Initiatory Ordo Luminis, Awakening · Ordo Telae, Mastery · Ordo Sovratér, Sovereignty. Entered only by explicit personal choice, after preparation and discernment. Each order carries rites, study, and increasing spiritual duty.

The Ordines

The path of initiation

Each Ordo is a community of practice and transformation — ritual, learning, healing, leadership, or art. Entry is by free will and personal calling. Advancement is by remembrance, not hierarchy.

I Ingress Entry and immersion. The first movement of each stage. The postulant is received, and the teaching is met for the first time.
II Integration Embodiment and practice. Teaching becomes practice, and practice becomes character. Nothing is advanced that has not been lived.
III Illumination Mastery and transcendence. The stage completes, and the initiate is entrusted with guiding others through what they have walked.

Aspirational Commitments

These are lived, not simply professed

Compassionate Sovereignty Honor autonomy, offer support without coercion.
Harmonious Abundance Seek and share prosperity for collective flourishing.
Truthful Integrity Words and actions must reflect inner alignment.
Sacred Responsibility Repair harm promptly, own one’s impact.
Unity in Diversity Celebrate differences; reject discrimination.
Courageous Justice Defend the vulnerable; confront injustice even at personal cost.
Transformative Service Use gifts for healing and elevation of all.
Balanced Power Embrace light and shadow; never dominate or exploit.

The Four Dealbreakers

In most matters we do not judge.

We simply encourage each person to choose a right life. There are four exceptions, and they are absolute.

Excommunication severs community ties but not Divine love. Redemption is possible through genuine accountability and restorative pathways. For lesser harms, a restorative model is followed: confession, accountability circle, restitution, and possible reintegration.

The Four

Rape Non-consensual sexual violation; the ultimate breach of autonomy.
Abuse of Beings Physical, emotional, or spiritual harm — especially toward children or elders.
Slavery or Subjugation Coercion, forced labor, trafficking, denial of free will.
Murder The intentional, unjustified taking of life, except in direct self-defense.
